Mobile information & SMS text messaging
We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Your mobile information and SMS/text-messaging consent are used only to deliver the messages you have opted into, and are never provided to any third party or affiliate for their marketing.
Proclaiming Praise sends SMS text messages only to invited volunteers who provide their mobile number and opt in during account activation. These messages are notifications and reminders about worship-visit opportunities — for example, when a new opportunity is posted, and 24 hours and 1 hour before a visit you have accepted. To operate this program we collect your name, email address, and mobile phone number, which you provide when you activate your account, and we use them only to coordinate worship visits and send these notifications.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for help.
About this policy
Proclaiming Praise ("we," "us," or "our") is a nonprofit organization that trains, credentials, and deploys volunteer worship leaders into hospitals, hospices, and care centers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to proclaimingpraise.org and our volunteer portal at portal.proclaimingpraise.org.
Information we collect
- Contact and account information you provide when you inquire, apply, or are invited to volunteer — such as your name, email address, and mobile phone number.
- Volunteer activity information within the portal — such as worship-visit opportunities you accept and the summaries you file after a visit.
- Basic technical information that most websites collect automatically, such as your browser type, used to keep the site secure and working.
We do not record patient names or clinical details. Visit information uses patient initials and a care unit only.
How we use your information
- To coordinate worship-visit opportunities and communicate with volunteers and partner facilities.
- To send you service messages you have opted into, including email and SMS notifications and reminders.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website and volunteer portal.
How we protect and limit sharing of your information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile phone number or SMS/text-messaging consent with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We disclose information only to the service providers that run our systems on our behalf — for example, our secure hosting and database provider, our email-delivery provider, and our SMS provider — strictly so they can provide those services to us, and only as required by law.
Data security and retention
We use reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law.
Your choices
- You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP.
- You may unsubscribe from emails using the link in the email or by contacting us.
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information by contacting us.
Children's privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
